A hairy prediction:

it's always hard to leave sutton and go to work, but my coworkers and i sure do have a silly time some days. our favorite model lab guy and dog owner, has developed a new method of determining whether all is right in the world...whether or not my hair matches my coworker's. we both have sometimes curly/sometimes straight hair about the same length, and if it matches in texture and style (up or down) the universe is in for a good day.

i'm lucky to have her around to remind me that it's okay to be a gorgeous engineer like we are!! i'm not sure why people think we're twins, though, other than the fact we're both tall, but she has brown hair, is like 20 lbs less then me ('cause she's a crazy triathelete!), and no freckles. it was hilarious to find out that before i returned from maternity leave, lots of people were asking her how her baby was!!

i'll let you know monday if you're in for a good day :) i'm thinking straight and down, so we'll see!

My little peanut is all growed up, Part I::

it's amazing to watch sutton grow before our very eyes. just looking back at these pictures i'm amazed at how grown up he looks today compared to just a few short weeks ago! he's perfectly amazing and i'm having so much fun being his mommy. i just wanted to share a few pics of some exciting events over the past couple months:

first day of school-this was such a hard day for me, actually a hard couple months, but he loves school and his friends there, especially ms. avis, ms. shirley, and ms. amy. it's cute to see him "play" with the other kids in his class and i'm so thankful for the sweet people who take care of him while mommy has to work in the mornings. he's so funny...sometimes he laughs hysterically when i pick him up and sometimes he balls if i don't run straight to him and pick him up!

first road trip with dakota-

dakota and trish joined us on a trip to mimi and poppi's house in decatur. as you can see, they had a blast! it was a fun time and i'm so glad they came with us. aunt sara and unky casey met up with us there, too. it was a fun, lazy weekend full of lots of good food and nobody wanting to watch stardust with me!!

just rolling over-

sutton rolled over once at 6 weeks and then not again until 5 month! he's a pretty laid back guy and we like to say he's working on his cognitive skills before his motor skills :) it's amazing to watch him gain new skills! he's so proud of himself.

watching the super bowl with daddy-

aren't they cute! sutton's first super bowl party :)

baby dedication weekend -

grandmother and louis and mimi and poppy came to spend the weekend with us and be a part of our commitment before our church to raise sutton in a godly home and, as his earthly parents, to teach him all about his heavenly father. we really appreciated them making the trip to see us and be with us for this special day. i forget how lucky we are to have the support of our christian families and to know that sutton has been prayed for long before he was even born. dakota was dedicated on the same sunday...what a cute pair these two are!

first solid food-

mmm...rice cereal! he LOVED it! and still does...7 1/2 months old and 22 1/2 pounds says it all! since then i've had a blast making most all of his baby food for him. it makes me feel like such a mom to fix his little meals for him. he loves to help me "cook" in the kitchen, too! his favorite is banana with rice cereal, but he also likes pumpkin and sweet potato.

i'll post more of sutton's adventures soon....snow day, first photo shoot, bath time....yay!
