Homemade Christmas:

this year my brothers, sisters-in-laws and i decided to try a new idea and declared it a "homemade christmas"! it was awesome! i got some handmade note cards from craig and marla and jewelry from casey and sara. craig (my incredible chef brother) gave chris some yummy-licious spagetti sauce, pickled red onions (craig swears are awesome on salads), and mixed berry jam! my mom and dad also got into the spirit and made fig preserves and homemade caramels for everybody!

chris helped me make new york memory books with pictures and brochures from the girls + sutton's adveture in august. these were for mimi and poopsie:

arm warmers and a pin for sara:

a cap with a $ sign on the back for casey (hey, it's what he requested!):

a scarf with a bird pin for marly:

a hat with a flower for mimi. (it's hard to see the flower in the picture because it's gray-on-gray):

a fluffy warm scarf for grandmother:

i didn't get a picture of the hat i made for craig, but it turned out pretty cool. it was a copy of one we saw in outdoors, inc. that used this pattern.

chris and i also made a felt board for sutton since he's always loved those gel clingy things for windows. it's the perfect size for toting around in a diaper bag :)

we'll have to see if we've started a new tradition :) if so, i'll have to get to work much sooner in 2009!!
