A Very Happy 1/2 Birthday!

sutton turns the big 1.5 today :) my goodness where did the time go! he is such a happy kid, even though that little 'tude is starting to show up every once in a while when we have to go inside from playing ball or when we can't go out and play with daddy's "beep" (aka...his jeep).

just within the last few weeks i feel like he has been really picking up on new words like crazy. "elbow" and "boat" just popped up out of no where! judging by the words he knows, you can really tell he's such a boy! truck, ball, b-ball, jeep, mommy, daddy, mimi, gigi, and more (food) rank high on the list. he's also rocking the animal sounds and body parts! it's his little made up words that crack me up the most! "no's" are airplanes (maybe this is the sound they make when they go by??) and "ba-ba-ba" while patting his legs means he wants to watch a dvd (okay, i have no clue where this comes from!). and whenever he wants us to turn on music he starts dancing and "snapping" his fingers - it's really adorable!

sutton loves giving kisses (it's the end of an era that the big open-mouth kisses have turned into sweet pucker-faced ones) and is so sweet to pass them out freely!

we had his 18 month check up last friday and he's off the charts in everything. the doctor said he's doing great and is the weight of an average 3 yr old and height of an average 2 1/2 year old, so we are working on his ball skills for that future scholarship :) he comes from tall stock (especially on his mommy's side), so it's all good. obviously, my guy is a good eater - and his favorites are all super healthy fruits and veggies like bananas, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, sweet potatoes, tomatos, peas, corn, and carrots. his 4 molars came in just after christmas, so he's been chowing down on most everything we enjoy.

my little guy is not much of a fan of playing with indoor toys, though he loves his pop up star wars tent, tee-pee, blocks and really loves to read. he could play outside with balls and sticks and rocks, seriously all day.

after his doctor's appointment on friday we celebrated how well he did with his shot (last one until he's 5!) with a cupcake at muddy's bake shop and on saturday we rode the train at the zoo. life is good ;)

If I say "ba-ba-ba" and pat my legs I wonder if Jason will change my DVD's?
