My, My How You've Grown!

my little guy turns 1 tomorrow!! that means one year ago today was my due date and we spent the whole day hanging out with trish, jacob, and little dakota waiting for him to come. we walked (well, i mainly waddled) around the farmers market, had some spicy food from pearl's oyster house (where dakota left a little mess on jacob's shirt and it took trish like 1/2 an hour to clean up her new little girl in the restroom!). then we went back to our house and played games and watched football (i think), and dakota christened sutton's baby swing :) . i don't know what everyone else had for dinner, but for some reason i thought fruity pebbles sounded really good (i was into all things fruity-tasting) and about 10 or 11 that night the cartners finally decided to head home. all that walking/waddling, spicy food, laughing and artificial fruit-flavored cereal must have done the trick because just a few short hours later (at 3:30am) my water broke and my precious little guy was on his way into this world!!

here's a bit of what he's accomplished in the past 12 months:

- truly "looking" at me about 2 weeks old

- "conducting music" at about 3 weeks

- smiling at 5 weeks old

- "ahh-gooing" at 6 weeks

- rolled over once at 6 weeks

- standing in my lap at 7 weeks

- sleeping through the night at 8 weeks

- kissy face at blowing raspberries at about 3 months

- going to school at 4 months

- sitting up at 5 months

- eating cereal at almost 6 months

- rolling over "for-reals" at 6 months (hey, that's a lot of weight to push over :) )

- giving big sloppy open mouth cheek kisses at 8 months (he still does this!)

- eating baby food at about 6 1/2 months (avocado and banana were his firsts)

- eating finger food (gerber puffs) at 8 months

- playing peek-a-boo with us at 8 months

- waving "bye-bye" at almost 9 months

- pulling up started the weekend of betsy and wes' wedding (almost 9 months)

- at his 9 month appt he was in the 95th percential for weight and >95 percentile for height! (i like to say he's slim for his height!)

- eating real finger food at 9 months

- 1st nights with mommy away for business at 9 months

- during our beach trip he started "cruising" (walking while we hold his hands) (9 months)

- army crawling started the day we left for 4th of July weekend (almost 10 months)

- real crawling started the next day! (almost 10 months)

- saying "bye-bye" (first time to the jewelry store lady!) and "uh-oh" (still his favorite word)

- walking while we hold just one hand (11 months)

- bringing loads of love and joy to everyone he meets since September 9th, 2007!!
