Our Holiday Season Adventures:

it's been a while since i've been able to sit down and show you how sutton just keeps getting cuter and cuter, so i thought i'd take a minute to do just that!
since our halloween party, we've done lots of traveling to show off the little booger to all our family. early november we took a trip to nash-vegas to celebrate my great aunt helen's b'day! once rumored to have danced on tables...you know it's always a party when aunt helen is around! chris, sutton and i got to stay with casey and sara at their house. it was good times as always :)
no b'day cake for sutton, yet.....

next sutton and i were off to decatur for a couple nights before heading to g-vegas, sc and clemson for thanksgiving. sutton and i felt like gypsies moving around to a different house every few nights. first aunt kiki's, then auntie-m and uncle chef's, then to nana and g-granddad's in clemson where chris met us and we had a whole house FULL to the brim of hubbards and alleys! our cute little turkey has given us so much to be thankful for! he is such a blessing and i'm so proud to be his mommy.

here we are watching his first thanksgiving day parade!
hamming it up at brunch at uncle chef's restaurant:

sutton did find time for a date night with his gal, dakota, in between trips....

shortly after that sutton and i flew up to see poopsie and granddaddy-o in their new house in jersey. it's quite a ways from memphis, but WAAAAY closer than kuwait where we went to see them last year! despite being sick most of the week and bad weather that canceled our day trips, we had a great time. it was so wonderful just to play with sutton, watch christmas movies and bake cookies. chris met us there later in the week and we celebrated christmas with the family early. i tell ya...christmas is so much fun when you have a sweet little baby around. it just reminds you of the fact that we are celebrating the birth of jesus and the amazing joy felt in that manger!

after a week of recovery, a little last bit of christmas shopping, and a LOT of laundry, chris, sutton, tilly and i were off to decatur for a fincher-family christmas. all the kids and spouses were there which was great fun! christmas eve, we have a tradition of celebrating with my dad's family. it always has to be a theme. it used to be a different country every year, but after running out of countries with palatable cuisine we've branched out a bit and this year it was christmas mardis gras-style :) their was even a little parade with the children (and aunt carol and uncle johnny decked out in christmas lights). it was probably the loudest and funniest christmas eve on record thanks to mom providing the recorders, horns and fake "grills". christmas day we celebrated with my mom's family. we had some fantastic food and played games. sutton, of course, got completely spoiled with lots of love, attention and presents. he had a great day and loved all the excitement of the decorated christmas trees, family, singing, cooking and present-opening.

we have a pretty low key wedding anniversary planned for tomorrow. i am so happy to say that i was lucky to marry the perfect man and my best friend 5 years ago tomorrow. each year is more exciting than the last and i love you so much, schmoopy! i can't wait to celebrate our 50th together one day :)

new years will probably be low key, too...now that we have sutton around we are just as happy to stay around the house and play and watch him smile and laugh at us. not that chris needed sutton as an excuse to want to stay home :) i never knew that the guy i dated in college would turn out to be a home-body!

i hope you all have had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays with family and friends!
